K-C P simplifies green hygiene

As a sponsor of the 2014 Green Tourism Conference held in Manchester, Kimberly-Clark Professional helped delegates to make green hygiene easier. With its workshop - 'low impact housekeeping' - the company brought simplicity to sustainable hygiene and introduced key tools such as the Green Tourism Scorecard.

“Green Tourism has worked with Kimberly-Clark Professional for many years and is one of our endorsed suppliers,” says Andrea Nicholas, director of Green Tourism. “Kimberly-Clark Professional supplies green hygiene products to the industry, but goes one step further with solutions like the Green Tourism Scorecard which makes it easier to be a sustainable business.”

Green Tourism is the UK's national sustainable tourism certification scheme. Membership is awarded to organisations that meet rigorous criteria relating to energy and water consumption, social projects and diversity. The Green Tourism Conference, in its second year, brought together members who include hotels, restaurants, travel companies and operators of leisure attractions.

“We brought hard facts and insights to the conference about how to build a sustainably clean leisure business to maximise growth and minimise risk,” said Kimberly-Clark Professional's national account manager, Lindsay Bruce. “For the lodging and leisure industry, growth is dependent on achieving hygiene standards. We know from what our customers tell us that one of their biggest fears is an outbreak of infection and disease.”

The Kimberly-Clark Professional team demonstrated tools and techniques that enable businesses to minimise impact on the environment, decrease costs and reduce risks with the correct hygiene standards.
Andrea Nicholas continued: “We investigated and tested Kimberly-Clark Professional products thoroughly. They have a great range of not just core products, but a one-stop-shop for green hygiene requirements. The conference workshop brought it all together in a fun and engaging way, making green hygiene accessible, straightforward and efficient through shared best practice.”
