Welsh government contract awarded

Bilfinger Europa has won a contract to provide facility services on behalf of Cadw, the Welsh government's historic environment service.

Following a competitive tender process, Bilfinger Europa has won the six-figure, two-year contract. This will see the company provide cleaning, grounds maintenance and M&E to 122 sites in total, consisting of visitor centres, historic estates, and landmark sites including Britain's second largest castle - Caerphilly Castle. It also includes the World Heritage site of the castles and town walls of Edward I in Gwynedd and Tintern Abbey.

Cadw works for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales. It conserves the heritage to help people understand and care about their history and help to sustain the distinctive character of Wales.

Greig Brown, Bilfinger Europa's chief executive, said: “Successfully securing this contract with Cadw links perfectly with our existing relationship with English Heritage to demonstrate Bilfinger Europa's expertise in sympathetically delivering facility services within areas of significant historical importance.”
