Supporting and promoting professionalism in the cleaning industry is something to which the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners (WCEC) is wholly committed. As it continues into its 42nd year, the company is now seeking to expand its membership to ensure its legacy continues - and a new membership and communications committee has been appointed to shape future activity - charged with the task of promoting engagement with members of the company, and the wider cleaning industry, through effective communication and networking. This next step is a natural progression for the company, which takes communications seriously, having worked with specialist agency, Ceris Burns International, for the past four years.
The new committee represents a wide range of specialist industry experience and knowledge. The members are:
• Ceris Burns, managing director of Ceris Burns International.
• Sean Canty, director of CAM Specialist Support.
• Ashley Hoadley, director of Darwin Clayton.
• Chris Luxton, commercial director of Klenitise Ltd.
• Jim Melvin, managing director of Exclusive Contract Services.
Issa Tahhan, Master of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners, said: “The WCEC is an incredibly hard working organisation, which respects its traditions while also welcoming developments in technology, equipment and methods to improve professionalism within the cleaning industry. It values both its established and potential members, and wants to continue to grow and expand to provide a true reflection of this diverse and vibrant sector. The new campaign will raise awareness of the many benefits of being a WCEC member, including livery traditions, fellowship, opportunities for mentoring and networking, and involvement with deserving charities. Internal communications will also be developed, and members' views on events or initiatives they'd like to see are most welcome.”
