WCEC endows scholarship in memory of valued member

The Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners (WCEC) is supporting and encouraging the cleaning professionals of tomorrow in partnership with the University of Northampton. The John Butler Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners Endowed Scholarship was donated in memory of John Butler.

The scholarship is open to applications from students beginning their studies with the University of Northampton within the School of Science and Technology, who wish to undertake either the Certificate in Infection Control, or the Certificate in Cleaning Management. Applicants must also be from the Northampton area.

Maureen Marden, Master of the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners, said: “This scholarship is a fitting tribute to a valued past member of the WCEC. It also demonstrates our commitment to improving professionalism and standards in the cleaning industry, by supporting those who are just starting out on their careers in this rewarding sector. The graduation ceremony for students who most recently completed their courses took place in February, and I was privileged to attend. Three graduates received the Certificate in Cleaning Management, and six graduates received the Certificate in Infection Control. The WCEC would like to congratulate each one of the students upon the successful completion of their courses, and wish them all the very best for the future.”
