GPT Waste Management, the independent provider of waste management solutions and sustainable waste services, has won a two year, total waste management contract for three of the restaurants within the Corbin & King portfolio. The restaurants provide some of London's most iconic and best-loved dining establishments. GPT Waste will initially work with the group to provide total waste management services to The Delauney, The Wolseley and The Colbert restaurants. The remaining restaurants within the portfolio will join the contract later in the year.
Within the first month of the two year contract, GPT Waste will divert 100% of waste from landfill across the three sites using its nominated materials recycling facility where the maximum amount of material will be reused and recycled. Residue waste will then be processed as refuse derived fuel (RDF). The RDF will then be used in various outlets to produce energy, thus diverting all the waste from landfill.
Processing the general mixed waste in this manner will mean that 100% diversion will be immediately achievable.
Tony Mottram, commercial director of GPT Waste, said: “We're delighted to have secured this prestigious contract with Corbin & King. We work with a broad spectrum of organisations to provide services that are designed to enable them to achieve cost reduction by improving operational efficiency. This contract is an impressive addition to the GPT portfolio and will demonstrate that 100% diversion within the commercial sector can be achieved with improved waste management implementation.”
Services include collection, disposal and recycling of all types of industrial, factory, production, environmental and packaging waste with real time monitoring and assessment through GPT's management reporting system.
