G4S Facilities Management has won a three-year contract at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust to deliver cleaning services in the Manchester area. The Trust, which provides mental health and community services, neighbours G4S FM's existing and largest healthcare contract with Pennine Acute Hospital NHS Trust. The new contract, worth £615,000 per annum, runs for three years, with the option to extend for a further two years.
The healthcare sites range from small inpatient facilities, clinics, and outpatient departments. Some are on existing Pennine Acute Trust sites - for example, Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester and Fairfield General Hospital in Bury. This will enable collaboration between the services, benefiting both organisations.
The contract commenced on 30 November 2015, with around 60 staff transfering to G4S from the incumbent cleaning contractor.
Helen Moreland, G4S FM operations manager overseeing the contract, said: “We are very proud to be supporting mental health care with our first contract in this sector in the north of England. With a partnership approach to provide cleaning to Pennine Care and working together proactively, we are confident we can deliver high quality services more efficiently for the NHS.”
Martin Eastwood, Pennine Care head of facilities, added: “We're looking forward to commencing our new contract with G4S and are confident they will help keep our buildings clean and safe so we can continue to deliver excellent care to our patients.”
