From 10-14 October, Expo Unimed in Curitiba will be the venue for the 19th World Federation of Building Service Contractors (WFBSC) International Congress looking at water and its importance in sustainable cleaning. The congress will be held simultaneously with the 22nd Regional Higiexpo hygiene, cleaning and maintenance products and services exhibition, and the 23rd ENEAC national meeting of the cleaning and maintenance companies.
Among the presentations programmed for the four day meeting, Andrew Large, executive vice-president of the World Federation of Building Service Contractors, based in London, will deliver the opening presentation on 11 October at 9.30am. Large will provide an overview of the ‘Cleaning for Health’ project launched by the WFBSC biennial congress in Auckland, New Zealand in February 2011, to drive forward the role of the cleaning industry in the promotion of public health. The topic has been brought to the ISSA trade show In Amsterdam, and has been the subject matter of a partnership between the WFBSC and the Private Organisations for Patient Safety (POPS) Platform of the World Health Organisation. In his second presentation, on 12 October at 9.30 am, Large will detail the project and the next steps to be taken, as well as the results achieved to date.
