Swiftclean strengthens its board to prepare for growth

Swiftclean Building Services has strengthened its board of directors by appointing Essex businessman Malcolm Johnston as a non-executive director. The appointment has been made as part of its growth strategy, adding new skills to the highest level of the award-winning company's senior management team.

Gary Nicholls, Swiftclean's managing director, said: “Malcolm brings over 20 years' successful management experience in the UK, Germany and the USA. He has been working with us for the past few years, using his strategic planning expertise to help us formulate a robust five year business plan to take us into our next phase of development. Making him a non-executive director was the next logical step.”

In addition to his work with Swiftclean, Johnston runs his own successful strategy consultancy, founded in 2000, providing mostly small and medium sized companies with guidance on customer focused strategic change. He has held senior management positions in sales and marketing in the IT and telecommunications industries, is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the Chartered Management Institute and is also a member of the CIM Eastern Region Board. He lectures in strategic marketing on post-graduate courses for a number of universities. He said: “I am delighted to be invited to join the board at Swiftclean as it demonstrates the company's commitment to strategic forward thinking. Swiftclean is already one of the UK's leading specialist building services companies but is constantly looking to improve and evolve, so this will prove an exciting ongoing challenge.”
