Springboard Women's Development Programme at Romec

Female staff at facilities management company Romec have been taking part in a bespoke personal development course to help boost their confidence and assertiveness. The company has adopted the award- winning Springboard Women’s Development Programme, which is being lead internally by organisational development manager Wendy Pollit.

Romec acted after a pattern began to emerge from female employees at junior and non-management levels in their annual reviews that being more confident and assertive would help them in their jobs. Wendy Pollit, who heads a team fully accredited to deliver the training, said: “Springboard is an inspirational programme offered to all women, of all ages, at any level and at all stages in life within Romec. The courses are designed to help tackle any problems in any part of life, and to start taking action to make the changes to be who you want to be. Springboard is fun, positive and thought provoking, touching on different areas such as assertiveness, understanding yourself and work-life balance.” The programme comprises a series of four interactive workshops spread across two to three months, and in each group there are approximately 20 women.
