A dual service manager has been recognised for his dedication and leadership at a shopping centre in Cambridge. Ian King, who was brought in as security and cleaning contract manager for the Westgrove Group at The Lion Yard Shopping Centre in Cambridge, won ‘best newcomer’ at the regional British Security Industry Association awards and was praised for introducing a vast amount of health and safety and customer service initiatives to the busy shopping centre.
Westgrove Group managing director, Claire McKinley Smith, said: “This is our fifth consecutive year of BSIA awards and as always we are very proud of our security officers for their dedication, loyalty, teamwork, customer service, use of technology, and their bravery.”
James Kelly, CEO of the BSIA, said: “It is important that we recognise the true value of security personnel. They are often the first responders in times of emergency and play a vital role in keeping the public safe. This year’s Security Personnel Awards regional winners are testament to the truly high calibre of personnel we have working within our industry. We received a high number of fantastic nominations this year, making the judging process a tough one.”
