Romec opens Innovation Centre

Facilities management company Romec has opened a state of the art Innovation Centre that brings its complete range of products and services under one roof for the first time. 18 months of planning, and an investment of £250,000, has now come to fruition with the development of the Innovation Centre, which is adjacent to the motorway network in Leeds.

The centre takes visitors on a journey and shows how innovative Romec is while also letting potential customers get a flavour for what it is like to have the company as a partner.

Mike Sparrow, Romec’s managing director, said: “The Innovation Centre provides a dynamic environment to demonstrate our products and services and show what sets us apart from the competition. Our new facility has been designed as an attraction and takes people on a journey with the experience starting from entering the car park, with vehicle recognition, so a personal welcome greets you as you walk through the door. Walking into the centre you are greeted by a map of the room highlighting the distinct areas of your journey into Romec.

Our brand promise is used as the theme - taking you through the five guiding principles as you walk around, with demonstrations on how we deliver, the services we offer, footage of our people doing their work and using the technology to add value to customers.”

The Centre showcases how Romec:
• Monitors, responds and reports with the use of the ARC systems.
• Logs, tracks and traces by utilising mobile data units combined with the new Oracle real-time scheduler through its National Service Centre (NSC) for optimum performance, while also using vehicle tracking for route efficiency to minimise its carbon footprint.
• Manufacturing design creates and delivers functional items such as the iconic Royal Mail post box and the Tops 2000 automation project.
• How cleaning & office management are creating brighter working environments through efficiency, integrity and care.
• The way in which building services analyses, installs and maintains through energy management.
• Special projects and the fantastic work the National Projects Group has delivered with Camelot.
• Innovative new ways in which print solutions are helping customers with their creative requirements.
• Health at Work is also a feature with products such as baby tagging, deaf alerting and a host of touchless technologies for maximised hygiene that will protect, control and nurture.
• Plus the many ways Fire & Security manages, protects and informs with technology such as the fog cannon and also the integration of CCTV into the custom made Scalextric and Hornby train set in the Intelligent Movement Surveillance area.
