The relocation of Robinson Services laundry division is planned for the spring. Lorraine Smyth, general manager of the laundry division, said: "With an investment of over half a million pounds on the new laundry premises, major building work has been carried out as well as rewiring the whole plant. We are also putting on new shutter doors, installing a new boiler, upgrading the fire alarm system, installing a complete new lighting system, putting in place a new fencing system and state of the art technology for the machinery to process the laundry.
“We are also installing over five miles of mechanical pipe work, and three water tanks at the back of the building which will hold 40,000 gallons of water,” continued Smyth. “The plant will be run on natural gas supplied by Firmus and there will also be a special unit to recycle water and a heat recovery system. Once completed, the plant will be one of the most efficient in Ireland and provides us with the equipment and capacity to continue to grow the business. All senior management and staff are very much looking forward to working in the new premises in Antrim and are all working hard to ensure the move and the transition is as seamless as possible."
