Environmental Biotech (EB), the national hygiene cleansing service provider, has formed a partnership with hospitality company, Whitbread plc, to form WHR Facilities Management (WHR FM) created to maintain Whitbread’s premises nationwide.
EB, based in its new 40,000 sq ft office and warehouse facility in Maldon, Essex, has operatives working across the country servicing over 1700 Whitbread outlets which includes Premier Inn hotels, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Tay Barn restaurants and Costa Coffee outlets.
The formation of WHR Facilities Management is the result of a partnership that began just over three years ago when Whitbred was seeking a consolidation of solution providers for the problem of fats, oils and greases.
Tony Reddy, group maintenance manager at Whitbread, said: “At the time we had six regional contractors managing our drainage issues through a combination of reactive and planned maintenance. We met Environmental Biotech and they introduced us to their live bacteria solution. After a successful trial, their products and services were rolled out through our entire estate.”
WHR FM ensures continuous monitoring and maintenance of premises with technicians addressing a cross-section of maintenance issues nationally.
The project is set to be in three phases, the first of which - the creation of the network of mobile technicians - has been successfully completed. Stages 2 and 3 will be completed within the next 12 months.
Aziz Tejpar, chief executive of Environmental Biotech, said: “The ambition of Environmental Biotech, already a global entity, has been shown once again by the marriage of our services to the network of WHR’s outlets. We plan to develop the management of a range of facilities and are already working on a selection of services that we can add into the premises that will benefit all divisions of the WHR FM family.”
