National training award win at major hospital

Mitie is celebrating a win for employee Servulo Coelho at the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) Awards. Coelho won his award for 'excellence in maintaining high standards via training and assessment' at St George's Hospital in Tooting, London. The awards, which were held in September at the Forest of Arden Country Club, Birmingham, celebrate excellence in the industry.

Servulo Coelho has worked for Mitie's Environmental + business as a training supervisor since 2009 and in that time has completed the Mitie 'Train the Trainer' parts one and two and has also become a qualified, certified and licenced BICSc assessor. This has enabled him to assess his colleagues against the required BICSc standards within the Cleaning Professionals Skills Suite.

Coelho assesses over 400 Mitie employees per year, including new starters and existing team members. He said: “I am really pleased to win this fantastic award - being recognised in this way by BICSc is a great honour. Training Mitie people is immensely rewarding and I would like to thank the team at St George's Hospital, who made this possible.”

Bob Forsyth, managing director of Mitie's cleaning business, said: “It's wonderful that Servulo is being recognised for his excellence in training our people to work to the highest standards at St George's Hospital. It's another great accolade for our dedicated healthcare team.”
