MFG rolls out new pure water stations with SpotlessWater

SpotlessWater has announced a new partnership with Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, to install its 24/7 self-service pure water stations across select locations within MFG’s estate.

After a successful trial in St Albans, new sites in Borehamwood and Hatch End will open before the end of the year. Plans are already underway to introduce additional stations at further MFG locations as the partnership progresses.

Across the UK, cleaning and maintenance professionals rely on pure water to deliver high-quality results, but producing it independently requires costly equipment, ongoing maintenance, and significant waste. As a leading provider of self-service pure water, SpotlessWater solves this challenge. Its patent-pending technology minimises water waste and removes the need for disposable resins or harsh cleaning agents, allowing customers to achieve spot-free results quickly, efficiently, and sustainably.

Since launching in 2016, SpotlessWater has dispensed over 600 million litres and now supports more than 19,000 weekly refills across 150 UK stations, with an ambition to reach 1200 stations by 2029.

Early results from St Albans show strong performance, with more than 5000 fills in its first 8 months of operation. These include window cleaners, valeters, aquarists, and other trade professionals, with customers reporting that the improved accessibility, additional services and convenience make this an ideal location.

The partnership supports MFG’s wider strategy to maximise value from every part of its estate by hosting high-performing concessions that enhance convenience for customers and generate new revenue streams.

Tim Morris, CEO of SpotlessWater, said: “This partnership with MFG represents an exciting step forward in our mission to improve national access to pure water. The synergy between our users, who are constantly on the move, and MFG’s high-quality, well-located forecourts makes for a powerful collaboration. Our stations bring new, regular trade customers directly to the site, while offering MFG a hassle-free, value-adding concession that complements existing services. We’re looking forward to expanding further across the MFG estate and partnering with more forecourt owners and retailers as demand continues to grow.”

Adam Wadlow, Chief Investment Officer for MFG, added: “We are pleased to partner with SpotlessWater to bring its innovative pure water stations to our forecourts. We have seen strong demand for the service in St Albans offering additional convenience for professional users, strengthening our commitment to host a diverse range of high-quality services across our sites. It is great to see the next steps SpotlessWater is taking with MFG to broaden the trial to more of our locations.”
