Low cost, high performing tub vac

Nilfisk has launched a low cost, high performing tub vacuum aimed at the volume sector. The GD111 vacuum has some impressive characteristics and, claims the company, looks sets to challenge longstanding competitors in key markets.

The GD111 is compact and lightweight, weighing in at only 5.2kg, 25% less than its closest competitor. The 10 litre container has a net fill of 8 litres which, according to Nilfisk, is ‘best in class’ and doubles that of its competitors.

Steel tubes, a 10 metre power cord, combination, crevice and brush nozzles complete the assembly. The accessories store neatly at the back of the machine and a clever design enables the machine to be carried in one hand.

Noise continues to be an issue, particularly within commercial environments where day time cleaning continues to increase. The GD111 has the lowest sound level in it’s’ segment at only 69 dB(A).

Reliability can never be overlooked; breakdowns cost the client money and time. Reliability was a key factor for the Nilfisk development team and many features have evolved from the remit of field durability.

A protective rubber body bumper reduces any potential damage to both furniture and the machine. Additionally a heavy duty on/off switch has been designed for continuous foot operation. The machine also features a threshold bumper designed to take the initial impact when the machine is moved over low thresholds from room to room.

As most contract cleaners know, the power cable entry to the machine is often a critical break point. The GD111 has a funnel shaped cord entrance that removes sharp bends in the power cable and greatly improves reliability.

A single secure locking mechanism features an intuitive top cover locator for easy use. The power cord can be stored either on the rear hook or beneath the carrying handle. A convenient tube parking position allows the hose to be neatly parked and aids storage.

Ever mindful of customer needs Nilfisk considered the requirement for clients to use other manufacturer’s bags and hoses with this machine. Customers often have stocks of competitor bags and hoses that they need to use up. For this reason each GD111 vacuum will be supplied with a Numatic adaptor in addition to a dust bag, sack and motor filter.
