London university awards cleaning and security contracts

Cordant Services has secured contracts to supply a wide range of cleaning, security, and front of house services to the University of London. Dedicated teams will create a clean, safe, and attractive environment within all the buildings of the university's academic and residential estate. The contracts, which will run for five plus two years, will provide a comprehensive range of services, including: general routine cleaning, periodic cleaning, and ancillary services.

The new contracts will also deliver a range of manned security services, including regular mobile patrols across the Bloomsbury Precinct, concierge, and reception services. Front of house, portering, and mailroom teams will also fall under the company's remit. In total, more than 150 staff have transferred to Cordant Services under TUPE regulations.

Paul Wilkinson, director of property and facilities management at the University of London, said: “We were very impressed with Cordant Services ability to provide high quality services across a wide range of disciplines, to support the activities of our varied set of stakeholders. We wanted to find a flexible and service centric partner. Cordant Services was the clear choice.”

Jamie Reynolds, group commercial director at Cordant Services, said: “This key business win signifies that Cordant Services has the proficiency to deliver industry-leading services. We are excited to secure this partnership with the University of London, strengthening our presence in one of the world's most vibrant cities.”
