Commercial laundry system provider Xeros has won the 'smaller company' category in the FT ArcelorMittal Boldness in Business Awards 2015. According to Xeros, no other laundry company has ever been nominated or indeed received recognition by winning one of these awards.
Operated jointly by the FT and international steelmaker ArcelorMittal, the scheme is now in its seventh year and in 2015 attracted 250 entries from across the world, submitted by companies in sectors such as banking, manufacturing, and high technology. Winners in the scheme's seven categories were selected by a panel of experts including FT editor, Lionel Barber, and ArcelorMittal chairman, Lakshmi Mittal. The judges based their decisions on a shortlist drawn up by the FT's global network of bureau chiefs and senior journalists.
Xeros chief executive officer, Bill Westwater, said: "Amongst the many accolades Xeros has won, the team and I are most proud of this award. Why? Because it's all about the boldness of our technology, our service-orientated business model and how we deliver for our customers. In a world of increasing water scarcity and energy costs, laundry customers demand the boldest solutions.”
