Kingston Crown Court and Interserve have been awarded gold at the ‘Keep Britain Tidy Business Awards’, an awards ceremony held on 18 August 2009 to raise awareness and help businesses collect, store and dispose of their waste lawfully to create a safer and more inviting environment. This award was presented to the team for their commitment to keeping the courts clean and tidy.
Keep Britain Tidy, the environmental charity and anti-litter campaigner for England, recognised Interserve’s continuous commitment to waste management and its drive to actively reduce, reuse and recycle waste to improve the local environment on behalf of Kingston Crown Court, part of Her Majesty’s Courts Service (HMCS).
Terry Barritt, general manager at Interserve, said: “It is a real pleasure to be recognised by such a worthy organisation. It is a great achievement and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering the best service for our clients and is a testament to the hard work of the team at Kingston Crown Court.”
Victoria Sciberras, acting deputy court manager at Kingston Crown Court, said: “We were delighted and surprised to receive the gold award. Our staff are very committed to environmental issues and we enjoy the challenge of looking for practical ways to reduce waste, recycle and reuse.”
Interserve has been delivering cleaning services to HMCS since 1999, and as well as the extensive waste management programme, it also provides traditional cleaning services such as office cleaning, day janitors, and window and floor cleaning.
