Joint contract for high school cleaning

Axis Cleaning and Support Services has been re-awarded a joint contract with Solutions SK by Cheadle Hulme High School.

“The reputation and performance of Axis Cleaning & Support Services and Solutions SK on the existing contract was one of the major factors in securing the new contract,” said Nick Tomkins, group manager of facilities management at Solutions SK.

Axis and Solutions SK will be responsible for the internal cleaning of the school including the new sixth form building currently being built. They will also administer day-to-day management, sharing of cost of resources, and support during staff absences. Additionally, Axis Cleaning & Support Services will take charge of providing chemical and machine supplies, operational management of staff, and provision of materials, whilst Solutions SK will take up a strategic role in the management of the contract.

To cater for the demands of the new contract, Axis and Solutions SK have invested in a range of new machinery including three scrubber driers, vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, internal reach and wash systems, intensive carpet cleaning machinery, and will provide training for all 20 employees.

Tomkins views the joint contract as an opportunity for the two companies to further their scope of work. He said: “As a combined service we are able to offer the advantage of being a well known local service provider, owned by SMBC, accompanied with the extensive commercial awareness and innovative approach Axis provides.”

Managing director of Axis Cleaning and Support Services, Stuart Buswell, said: “With an extensive and successful history, the retender provides an ongoing opportunity for Axis to expand our relationship with Solutions SK, bringing together the very best qualities to deliver to Cheadle Hulme High School.”
