ISSA and BBS announce CIMS certification training workshop

ISSA and BBS (BICS Business Services) have announced details of the second 'Industry Certification Expert' (I.C.E.) training workshop. These workshops form an integral part of ISSA's acclaimed Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) which launched in the UK and Ireland earlier this year.

The workshop will be run by ISSA's partner BBS and will be held on 17 September at The Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club, Birmingham. Registration should be made by email to: cims@bicsbusinessservices.com.

CIMS is a consensus-based management standard geared toward validating and improving the professionalism of cleaning service providers. Certification to the CIMS standard provides a clear way for a contract cleaning company to differentiate itself from its competition through demonstrating a commitment to quality, as well as a keen focus on customer satisfaction, continual operational improvement, and best use of resources.

“These are exciting times for the industry, as CIMS gives organisations the opportunity to distinguish themselves as a true innovator and leader within the marketplace,” said Justin Calver, BBS.
Manufacturers, distributors, and training and consultancy firms also have the opportunity with CIMS to expand their industry knowledge and strengthen their customer relationships by assisting customers in preparation for CIMS certification.

This new workshop date follows the success of the first I.C.E. training event in March 2014. “We were thrilled with the success of the first workshop, and the appetite and enthusiasm for the September training session has exceeded even that, proving that the market is, indeed, hungry for professional standards that can highlight top performers,” said Keith Baker, ISSA director of EMEA services.

More than 1500 cleaning industry professionals have now qualified as Industry Certification Experts worldwide. Past attendees of international workshops have been able to save their customers or own organisations more than six figures annually by helping them comply with CIMS and achieve certification to the standard.

Further I.C.E. workshops in the UK and Ireland for 2015 will be announced in the coming weeks. Companies interested in having ISSA and BBS conduct private, bespoke workshops at their own facilities should contact Keith Baker at keith@issa.com.
