ISS achieves ISO 9001:2015 certification

ISS UK Ltd has achieved recommendation for certification to the new quality management standard - ISO 9001:2015. The accolade denotes the level of service reached which is benchmarked according to an international standard of excellence. ISS UK, along with its food and hospitality business, was granted the certification on 23 September 2015 and is one of the first companies in the world to achieve it.

Created by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO), the 9001:2015 standard sets out the framework for effective quality management systems and includes major clauses on: Leadership; Risk based approach; Interested parties; People; and Measurement, analysis and improvement.

“Attaining this certification is an excellent achievement that highlights ISS' commitment to quality and service,” said Richard Sykes, chief executive officer, ISS UK and Ireland. “Our quality management system has been measured against an international benchmark and found compliant. This gives us a firm foundation for continual improvement of our customer-focused service ethos, and I would like to congratulate everyone involved in helping ISS to achieve this standard.”

Jonathon Dillon, commercial director, UK certification, DNV GL - Business Assurance, said: “As a world-leading certification body, we work with companies to assure the performance of their products, process and organisations through certification, assessment and training. We help customers build stakeholder trust and create a platform for sustainable performance. In achieving the accreditation, ISS has demonstrated a culture that places great importance on quality systems along with an ambition for continual improvement. This is also one of the corner stones of the global project to rationalise certification across the ISS group and ISS UK are at the forefront of this approach which will deliver benefits for ISS and its customers.”

Tim Proctor, director of health safety, quality, environment and corporate responsibility, ISS UK and Ireland, added: “ISS is committed to becoming the 'world's greatest service organisation' - achieving this certification underpins this vision and reflects the hard work and commitment of all the teams involved across the UK.”
