Initial Integrated Services’ cleaning team at BP Hull were officially crowned the best cleaning team in the UK recently after picking up the Gold Winner award from James Cracknell OBE for the Team Clean Challenge organised by Asset Skills.
Team BP competed against 87 teams from across the country including five teams from Initial Facilities Services, namely Team Norwich Union, Team Deutsche Bank, Team Credit Suisse and Team M & S Money, to win the accolade.
The teams - which consisted of two cleaning operatives, one supervisor and one manager - participated in a half day session where they were assessed on: Cleaning processes, supervision and monitoring; Health and safety; Work planning and allocation; Training and development; and Estimating & costing.
Elizabeth Mountford, HR director at Initial Facilities Services, said:
“We employ some of the best people in the industry and this gave us the perfect opportunity to showcase our talent. The feedback from the judges was extremely positive - they said the team showed true professionalism and demonstrated very high standards.”
