Healthcare wins spell growth for cleaning contractor

A specialist West Midlands cleaning and facilities management business has cemented its position in the healthcare sector after securing six new medical contracts in only 18 months. Malvern-based Tulip, which was founded in 2006 by businesswoman Melanie Baker, is now providing cleaning services to medical centres across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire through its new specialist healthcare division.

The launch of the new division aims to support further partnerships in the sector, with Tulip's clinical waste service also being rapidly expanded by Baker and her 70-strong team. Baker, who has built an extensive customer base which includes hospitals, health centres, schools, and commercial firms, said: “I am thrilled with the pace of our healthcare division's growth and cementing our sixth contract is another important milestone for Tulip. We pride ourselves on being able to deliver the high quality levels the Care Quality Commission (CQC) looks for within the sector with one of our customers only recently receiving an outstanding rating. It is our level of commitment and partnership working that have played a key role in us winning the contracts, while feedback from practice managers has been exceptional. We have been able to relieve the pressure on them by offering a full range of cleaning services but also giving unique support by ensuring they tick all the boxes ahead of a CQC inspection. The healthcare sector is facing mounting pressures at present and our objective is to help alleviate that by offering an all-encompassing service including cleaning, clinical waste, and supporting health care assistants in their daily duties. It's proving to be a winning combination.”
