'Good attendance' at ISSA event

ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe enjoyed a successful fourth edition. Some 182 exhibitors from 25 countries presented their latest products and services to a global audience of cleaning professionals.

ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe was organised by Amsterdam RAI in association with ISSA and local partner PSC and took place from 13 to 15 May 2009 in the EXPO XXI Centre in Warsaw, Poland.

After four events ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe has proven to be the leading trade fair for the cleaning industry in Poland and surrounding countries. Despite the financial tensions on the world market, the number of visitors increased to 2811. The ratio of international visitors has risen to 23% of which a considerable part represents visitors from Central & Eastern Europe. "With our show in Warsaw we are at the gateway to Eastern Europe," said Amsterdam RAI product manager, Hilke de Vries. "The figures show that ISSA/ Interclean has taken the lead in the region." Marek Kowalski, board president of the Polish Cleaning Association, and co-organiser of the show, said: "We had a huge response from both exhibitors and attendees. Most important was the appreciation of the benefits reaped from the show. The number of negotiated deals outnumbered those made during the previous three editions together."

ISSA director of European services, Keith Baker, chaired a meeting of cleaning associations from CEE countries which included Poland, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Estonia and Kazakhstan. This meeting was followed by a conference programme which was attended by representatives from Europe, North America and the Middle East. The Golden Broom Innovation Awards also demonstrated the international flavour of the show with entries from The Netherlands, United Kingdom, Poland and Germany. Winner in the category ‘Cleaning systems, solutions, concepts and chemicals’ was Daunpol Sp. z o.o. with the NanoClean technology. Czysta Polska Waldemar Kups won the award with its floor washer Clean Time CT 40 Micro-fibra Version in the category ‘Machines and utensils’. Finally Tork/SCA Hygiene Products was elected winner of the best stand by the visitors.
