Futures Supplies & Support Services Ltd has been crowned the best SME business in Croydon, having recently won the award at the Croydon Business Excellence Awards 2015.
Futures Supplies was set up in 1995 by entrepreneur Mandie Kemp who, in the last two decades, has established the company as a pioneer, innovator and leader within the cleaning industry. The company is well respected and a major player in distributing washroom, cleaning and janitorial products. Remaining independent, the family run business whose ethos is to deliver service, quality, value, reliability, with environmental consideration through technology and innovation, never forgets the customer always comes first.
More than 300 companies attended the Croydon Business Excellence Awards gala dinner to hear the best of the best announced. Held at Croydon's Fairfield Halls and beating off stiff competition from a business community of more than 13,000 in Croydon, Futures Supplies was delighted to be awarded the accolade of 'Best SME Business'. The award sets out to recognise and acknowledge the ongoing role that all SME businesses play in growing and sustaining the economy.
Councillor Toni Letts, of category sponsor Croydon Council, said: “Operating as an ISO and carbon neutral business, Futures Supplies' staff training and development programme is exemplary, as is its policy to offer opportunities to disadvantaged young people and its commitment to become a 'Living Wage Employer'. The company's support for local as well as national charities is longstanding - a real example of giving back to the local community. Behind this family business lies a genuine success story of a woman entrepreneur who has combated a challenging upbringing and presents a tremendous role model and inspiration to women and indeed all local entrepreneurs. She is really inspirational.”
Mandie Kemp, chief executive and founder of Future Supplies & Support Services, said: “I wasn't expecting it all. I'm absolutely overwhelmed and it's great to have everyone here tonight - the dedicated young team who are equally responsible for our success, including my daughter and son who are so heavily involved in leading the business into the future.”
