Contractor achieves further health and safety certification

Regent Samsic has added OHASAS 18001 - the standard for best practice in occupational health and safety management - to a growing number of internationally-recognised professional certifications and accreditations.

After a stringent audit, the company is now registered with Alcumus ISOQAR as a certified organisation both for OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, the standard for environmental management systems.

Regent Samsic provides cleaning, security, and complementary facility management support services to 1700 sites across the UK occupied by 750 clients.

Regent Samsic's compliance manager, Amelia Freck, said: “We have always ensured that robust health and safety and environmental policies and processes are in place both at our own and our client sites. Attaining these latest standards along with our existing ISO 9001 accreditation for quality management systems reflects the diligence and ongoing commitment of our teams to deliver best practice at all times.”

The announcement comes after the company held three one-day health and safety training courses attended by directors, managers and support staff at its dedicated training academy at its head office.

Topics covered included awareness of company procedures, law, legal and moral obligations, how to ensure safe working methods, understanding accident investigation and reporting, issue of the latest company health and safety manual, and the requirements of training and documentation.
