Commercial gutter cleaning business launched

Drain Doctor, the combined plumbing and drain repair company, is rolling out a new commercial gutter cleaning system to franchisees across its network. The system is ideal for quick, easy gutter clearance as part of planned maintenance.

The new, powerful and easy to use gutter cleaning system allows Drain Doctor to clear gutters, roof valleys and gullies of moss and other material quickly and easily. It is designed to operate at up to 12 metres (39 feet) from the ground - typically the height of a four-storey office block or factory roof.

Contractors will have a cost-effective solution that complies with current health and safety regulations about working at height. Drain Doctor can clean gutters over difficult to reach areas, over outbuildings or in confined spaces, without the need for ladders or expensive scaffolding, cherry pickers or scissor lifts.

Difficult to reach areas and places with restricted access can be reached easily thanks to the long, lightweight tubing. Technicians working on the ground can see what's happening at gutter level thanks to the system's 'eye in the sky', a fully recordable wireless camera with a monitor that is fitted to the Sky Vac's tubing at the technician's eye level.

The Drain Doctor Sky Vac also has a 14-metre telescopic carbon fibre attachment for the camera which enables high level building maintenance both indoors and outdoors, including gutter and roof inspection surveys and security and surveillance equipment reviews.

The Drain Doctor Sky Vac is the world's most powerful free-standing gutter cleaner. It has a side entrance for fitting the vacuum tube which prevents the cleaner getting blocked. The machine's powerful wet and dry suction capability means that gutters can be cleared of moss, leaves and fetid water without mess.

The system comes with eight 1.5-meter carbon fibre tubes, each weighing just 310 grams, enabling a technician to tackle jobs up to the height of 12 metres from the ground. The lightweight sections mean that the whole system is easy to manoeuvre.

There are a number of tools and accessories that come with the system including a dirt breaker and goose neck attachment that will allow each Drain Doctor technician using the system to tackle even the toughest blockages.

Drain Doctor technical manager, Sandy Craig, said: "The new Drain Doctor Sky Vac allows our franchisees to offer a cost effective and hassle free gutter cleaning service to all our commercial customers. Our technicians can clean gutters from the ground without the added expensive of scaffold, cherry pickers or scissor lifts needed to comply with health and safety regulations for working at height. What's more, they can see what they are doing with the 'eye in the sky' wireless camera, and can undertake roof, gutter and valley inspections as part of planned on going maintenance. The powerful vacuum means that the system can suck up a large amount of waste material without making a mess. The all-terrain, robust chassis means that we can undertake work in confined areas such as small access areas between buildings where it would not be practical to use ladders or lifting plant. Lightweight tubes mean that we can easily get up and over obstacles such as outbuildings to clean difficult to reach gutters that it may not have been possible to clean before."
