Cleaning up at the Green Apple Awards

JPC Cleaning, in conjunction with Chiswick Park, has won a prestigious Green Apple Award - the gold prize award in the Environmental Best Practice and Sustainable Development category.

The award recognises JPC’s efforts in implementing various innovative green cleaning measures as part of the park’s eco-friendly campaign - Yellow is Green. It collected the award at a ceremony held at the Houses of Parliament.

One innovative step included switching to bio-diesel to power access vehicles, cutting the vehicles’ emissions by 80%. The bio-diesel is made from recycled waste oil, sourced from the park’s onsite restaurant. Other actions include recycling 90% of the park waste and incinerating the rest to produce electricity, investing heavily in microfibre equipment to cut chemical usage, and implementing a green line plus range - the only one officially recognised by Defra.

The Green Apple Awards are one of the biggest and most comprehensive environmental award schemes in the world and carry international recognition. They aim to recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice across the world.

Account manager John Conry Jr works extensively on the Chiswick Park site and said: “Chiswick Park has the environment in mind in everything they do, and our green cleaning practices play a big part in their green campaign. This award is a great achievement and is a sign of the hard work and progress we have been making.”
