Cleaning up at QV Foods

The extensive capability and innovative approach of Birmingham-based Hygiene Group has helped optimise cleaning and hygiene for a major producer and processor of potatoes.

QV Foods operates from four purpose built factories on a 54-acre site at Holbeach in Lincolnshire, farming some 4500 acres of potatoes and vegetables which are supplied to wholesalers, retailers, food service companies and food manufacturers.

QV Foods contacted Hygiene Group to undertake a full hygiene and technical audit for the facility, which handles around 500 tonnes of potatoes each week. Hygiene Group developed a comprehensive plan based on overnight cleaning of the facility each night to be ready for the following day’s 12-hour shift.

The extensive documentation provided by Hygiene Group convinced QV Foods of it’s ability to deliver to the highest possible standards of cleanliness. Alayne Seymour of QV Foods said: “We looked at a number of potential cleaning suppliers but were impressed by Hygiene Group’s professionalism and systematic approach. The initial audit was extremely thorough and the working relationship was excellent from day one. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with Hygiene Group.”
