Cleaning the latest London landmark

Principle Cleaning Services Ltd has been awarded the cleaning contract for The Shard at London Bridge Quarter, a new commercial district emerging on London's South Bank. Principle Cleaning is working in partnership with London Bridge Quarter Estate Management, the dedicated on-site service team, and will be wholly responsible for the housekeeping, cleaning, external estate cleaning, waste management and pest control.

Douglas Cooke, chief executive at Principle Cleaning Services Ltd, said: “This is the most pioneering building in London and a real milestone for the company to have won the contract. I am extremely proud to be associated with it and everyone at the company is excited at the prospect of working in partnership with London Bridge Quarter at The Shard and The Place.”

The Shard is at the heart of London Bridge Quarter and is the newest landmark addition to London's skyline, standing 310 metres high. The tallest building in Western Europe, The Shard is a vertical city containing offices, international restaurants, the 5-star Shangri-La Hotel, an exclusive collection of residences and the capital's highest viewing galleries - The View from The Shard. The Place is a new headquarters development also at London Bridge Quarter and, at 17 storeys and 428,000 sq ft, it boasts large floor plates and a landscaped roof terrace with spectacular views of London.

The development has transformed London Bridge Station to the highest standard of international transport design delivering a new bus station and train station concourse.
