Just five years ago, single mum of two, Faye McDonough from Cheshire, was working three jobs in order to look after her young family. Today she is celebrating being shortlisted in the Female Franchisee category of the 2015 bfa HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards.
McDonough is also marking five years running her Bright and Beautiful domestic cleaning franchise business providing eco-friendly cleaning, tidying, laundry, and ironing services through a team of 20 to over 250 homes in Cheshire each week, amassing a projected £500,000 turnover in 2015. She is also celebrating a major personal milestone this year, having beaten cancer twice in the past three years.
Faye McDonough said: “The past five years have been a bit of a whirlwind to say the least but it is fantastic to be here today with an amazing business, an awards nomination, my health hopefully back on track and, of course, my wonderful family who are at the heart of everything I do. When I first started working for Bright and Beautiful I was just like millions of other working mums needing a job that would work around my family but allow me to be independent. When I bought my first franchise I soon realised that running my own business gave me not just a job, but a career, a really successful business, a huge amount of confidence, and an amazing opportunity to help other women, both locally and in developing countries.”
The bfa awards showcase the diversity of excellence in the franchise sector, encouraging businesses of all sizes and sectors to demonstrate their outstanding achievements.
