The first UK cleaning industry ‘Charity Golf Open’ event was held on Thursday 24 May at Devere Dunston Hall, Norwich. A wide range of businesses supported the event from as far afield as the Netherlands and Scotland, including washroom hygiene manufacturer Vendor.
Almost 50 players enjoyed some superb weather and a course in excellent condition, further complimented by golf manager and resident professional Richard Tidy, who made everything run smoothly.
There were some Golf Academy students from Easton College playing in the event, sponsored by businesses including Bluefin Insurance Group, Capital Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies and Biobased Europe. Local business Right Angle Events not only sponsored the event, but also came along to give a taster session of its speciality crime scene re-enactment team building events.
During the day nearly £3000 was raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care and East Anglian Air Ambulance. This will be split equally between the two nominated charities and presented at the CSSA offices in London with the help of Andrew Large. In addition, almost £400 was raised via the impromptu raffle for Sparks.
The overall winner on the day was Carl Bailey from ProTeam. Team winners were Paul Court & Chris Leech from PR Court Cleaning and Chris Turner & Carl Bailey from ProTeam.
