Carillion Business Services (CBS) is reorganising two of its business units. The consulting business (comprising TPS, Schal and Enviros) and the government services business (comprising defence, health and education services) have merged with effect from 1 July 2009 to form Carillion Consulting and Government Services (CCGS).
Richard Sykes has been appointed as managing director of CCGS and will report to Don Kenny, executive director responsible for CBS.
Sykes joined Carillion as MD for consulting in February 2009 from Taylor Woodrow where he was operations director for its facilities management and construction activities.
CCGS, which will employ approximately 6400 people and have annual revenue of approximately £700 million per annum, will be responsible for a number of high-profile contracts in the defence, health and education sectors, whilst also providing design, surveying, project management and environmental consultancy services.
