BCC finalises content for 2012 conference

The British Cleaning Council has announced its finalised schedule for the 2012 conference, taking place at Coin Street Conference Centre on London’s South Bank on 23 October.

The conference brings together the cleaning industry’s most influential figures to debate the latest developments and innovations that will affect the sector. Previous speakers have included former cabinet minister Michael Portillo, Channel Four anchorman Jon Snow, BBC Today presenter Justin Webb, alongside an array of leading figures from the cleaning industry.

Doug Cook, BCC chairman, said: "Technology and innovation are fundamental to our industry and at the BCC we're committed to encouraging debate between diverse, successful industry figures. Of the 200 attendees expected, we anticipate a healthy mix of private and public sector, SMEs and larger businesses. We're therefore thrilled to be bringing the BCC conference to a bigger stage at Coin Street Conference Centre, and look forward to facilitating more fascinating conversations about the influence of technology and innovation in our industry.”

Leading the day is broadcaster, businessman and journalist Andrew Neil, who will share his experiences of working with Rupert Murdoch. Former Greggs boss, Sir Michael Darrington, will also be speaking about a life in business which saw him build a phenomenally successful British company over 25 years.

The day will feature sessions on: government economic policy; global chemicals regulation; business growth and acquisition; HMRC-led changes to payroll; apprenticeship funding; and slips and trips research.
The conference will be held in partnership with a number of sponsors: Kimberly-Clark Professional, Selden Research, Diversey, C&M Magazine, South Thames College, and Norse, and will mark an ambitious expansion of the BCC post event archive, with the entire day recorded and distributed via the BCC’s website.

Early bird tickets for the conference, priced at £99 plus vat, are available until the end of August from the British Cleaning Council’s website: www.britishcleaningcouncil.org/cleaningconference.html.
