Bath shopping centre added to retail portfolio

Incentive FM has been awarded a £2.7 million, three-year contract by Southgate Shopping Centre in Bath. Under the conditions of the agreement with Broadgate Estates, Incentive FM will be responsible for all cleaning, including window cleaning, and security at the open-air shopping centre which is a key tourist attraction and home to numerous restaurants.

A team of 28 security guards and cleaners will transfer under TUPE and operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day to ensure that visitors and staff can enjoy a safe, secure and clean environment. Key challenges include the fact that this is an open scheme centre with several entrances and high footfall. In addition, the ornate architecture and traditional bath stone requires specialist cleaning techniques.

Guy Henderson, centre manager, said: “All of us here at Southgate are committed to making our customers as welcome and comfortable as possible and providing a safe and clean environment is a major part of that. Therefore, our choice of FM partner is extremely important and we are confident that Incentive FM has both the skills and knowledge to deliver the standards we require.”
