Award for customer service excellence

ServiceMaster Clean, which specialises in national commercial and residential cleaning and disaster restoration services, has been recognised for its customer service excellence in south west business awards. The ServiceMaster Clean Devon team won the Customer Service Award in the Western Morning News business awards, the biggest celebration of business in the south west this year.

The national, specialist cleaning organisation received the award at an evening ceremony attended by around 400 in the Great Hall at the University of Exeter.

The criteria for the award, sponsored by First Great Western, was that the company ‘demonstrates a commitment to continuously improving its standards of customer service’, with the judges expecting to see ‘a clear, well-implemented customer care policy and examples of service exceeding customer expectations’.

ServiceMaster Clean Devon, which has just celebrated 15 years in business, provides quality floor care and specialist cleaning services for commercial and residential customers, and has adopted a ‘caring experts’ mantra in its approach to customer service. Examples of this are restoring damaged carpets to good condition, rather than customers facing the cost of replacing the carpet completely and taking time to understand each client’s unique needs.

Businesses in Devon affected by recent flooding have valued ServiceMaster Clean’s specialist service, Restoration Response, which guarantees fast response within a few hours of an emergency such as fire, flood, water or malicious damage, to start putting the property back to pre-damage condition.

Ken Rudge of ServiceMaster Clean Devon said: “Customer service is the single most important factor which helps us gain and retain new business. We have seen steady increases over the past five years, despite present economic conditions. Winning this award makes us realise how valued our work is and drives us to continue providing the best possible service within our sector.”
