Archant, one of the UK's largest independently-owned regional media businesses, has awarded its cleaning and facilities management contract to Norse Commercial Services. The three year contract, with an option to extend for a further three years, includes cleaning, building maintenance, mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance, reception, security and caretaking.
“This is an important contract win for Norse,” said sales director, Geoff Tucker. “As a major national multi-site agreement with a single client it builds on the company's growing presence as a facilities management provider in the private sector. It is also excellent news for Norfolk and Suffolk, to see two local companies working together and employing local staff.”
Archant Group's head of procurement and sustainability, Greg Parton, said: “It is great to be able to engage with a company which is prominent in our local communities, having their HQ in Norwich and major depots very close to most of our offices across the country. Their track record on quality, reliability and sustainability is excellent; I have told the Norse management team that our staff expect the highest standards and they are eager to show us what they can do.”
Archant has 38 locations across the UK, with the company's head office and Archant Print in Norwich, and Archant in Ipswich the main offices where the FM staff are employed.
The £1.5 million per year contract saw 32 staff transfer to Norse under TUPE.
