The Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, and SPV company Kintra, have confirmed that OCS will continue to provide a total facilities management service to Chepstow Community Hospital until 2020. OCS, which provides maintenance and engineering services, patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, housekeeping, reception and switchboard, portering, laundry and grounds and waste management, has provided all FM services to the hospital since it opened in 2000.
Chepstow Community Hospital was developed under the government's Private Finance Initiative, bringing a new approach to the provision of care by delivering primary, community and secondary care from one location. The building also houses two GP practices.
Tony Lelliot, operational manager, Kintra, said: “OCS Healthcare has, in my experience, always strived to overcome problems and to go the 'extra mile' in solving complex issues, whilst working collaboratively with all parties. Undoubtedly, OCS is a well-resourced company and has a broad-based skill set from which to draw. It has been quick to establish good working relationships with all stakeholders and its staff are positive in approach, reliable and well trained to a high standard across the spectrum of services, providing a long-term TFM contract.”
Bob Taylor, OCS CEO, UK public sector healthcare and infrastructure, said: “We are delighted to be able to serve the hospital over a 20 year term and to develop our strong partnership with the board and Kintra. The board aims to achieve the highest standards and quality of service, and a long service agreement such as this, enables us to deliver the maximum long-term benefits for the client and the people that it serves.”
