10k charity run

The annual 'Thomann-Hanry 10km' took place recently, this year for Hospiscare in Exmouth and Lympstone. Starting at The Old Palace Pub in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, the route took the seven runners cross country around the outskirts of this historic town and back to The Old Palace where they were greeted by well wishers, supporters and a welcome glass of Prosecco.

Over £1000 was raised for the Exmouth and Lympstone hospice which provides care and dedicated support to people who are terminally ill. Funds are constantly needed for this cherished facility that helps over 650 families a year.

Juan Cortizo, head of restoration at Thomann-Hanry, organised the run. He said: “Hospiscare Exmouth is a charity close to home after it provided support to our family in difficult times. The work of charities like Hospiscare is so essential, but they need constant public support. Thomann-Hanry, thankfully, is thriving and we are committed to sharing in our success by increasing our support of charities both in and out of London.”

Cortizo is now hoping to run the London Marathon for Hospiscare next April and aiming to raise a further £3000 to help the hospice.
