£1.2 million contract at O-I's Scottish plant

Complete Cleaning has landed a £1.2 million deal to clean O-I Manufacturing UK's plant at Alloa in Scotland, which makes bottles for Scotland's drinks and whisky industry. The plant is part of the international Owens-Illinois group.

Complete Cleaning won the contract through a competitive tendering process. The deal safeguards the jobs of up to 20 staff on the site as they will transfer to Complete Cleaning which will also create a new post for a manager to run the contract.

Donald Carslaw, Complete Cleaning's owner and MD, said: “Cleaning industrial complexes like that of O-I is always challenging, especially in an environment that operates 24/7. We have committed a dedicated team of operatives and managers to deliver the O-I contract, and invested in state of the art, specialist equipment, to help us achieve the high standards required. We are delighted that our experience and expertise has given O-I the confidence to work with us.”

The deal adds to Complete Cleaning's portfolio of drinks-related clients, which includes a number of sites for Multi Packaging Solutions and North British Distillers. The O-I deal rounds off a highly successful two-year spell, which has seen Complete Cleaning increase its turnover by £2 million to £5 million, and staff numbers increase to 430.
