With over 28 years of dedicated service at Peartree Cleaning Services, Ney Guzmán’s journey is one of growth, leadership and community impact. Originally from Ecuador, Ney moved to the UK to pursue career opportunities, unaware that his path would not only lead him to professional success but also to a meaningful role in supporting his local community through music. Here's Ney's story in his own words.
A career built on support
I began my career at Peartree as a Cleaning Supervisor before being offered a managerial role by one of the company’s directors. I travelled extensively across the South East, overseeing cleaning contracts and building strong client relationships. I loved meeting new people every day, and learning more about the different cultures throughout this beautiful country.
After two years my manager asked me to manage some of the company’s most prestigious contracts in London where I’ve recently been promoted to Key Account Manager. I love the variety in my role, the fantastic team I work with, and the relationships we’ve built with our clients. Every day, I come to work with a smile on my face!
Peartree has also supported my professional development by funding my CMI Management and Leadership (Level 5) qualification. This program is enhancing my ability to lead and manage teams effectively, making sure that my work aligns with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
A passion for music and community
After moving to London, I became an active member of Dulwich Church, where my passion for music found a new outlet. Having previously played piano in my church back in Ecuador, I was invited to join the Dulwich Church Band as both a guitarist and singer.
When I joined the band we badly needed better equipment, so I approached Peartree’s Commercial Director, Stuart Conroy, with a request for support. The company generously contributed over £1000 to purchase new instruments. In addition, they’ve pledged further support to fund uniforms for the band’s monthly performances.
Being part of Peartree and the band has given me a strong sense of belonging. The kindness and support I’ve received, both professionally and personally, have made a lasting impact on my life. Peartree is like a second family to me.
