Wates FM has achieved ‘recognised service provider’ status with the Living Wage Foundation and will be working with the organisation to promote the Real Living Wage. As a recognised service provider, Wates FM will now work with its supply chain and clients to promote the Living Wage employer standards.
This includes a commitment to offer a Living Wage bid alongside every market rate for all prospective and current clients, giving clients the choice to implement the Living Wage at point of tender.
James Gregg, managing director of Wates FM, said: “We’re extremely proud to receive the recognised service provider certification from the Living Wage Foundation. Wates FM works hard to ensure fair payment to our employees and our supply chain partners, and securing the Living Wage status is an acknowledgement of this long-standing commitment. Our business is reliant on teams who work hard to deliver an impeccable service for our clients. We recognise that for families, communities and businesses to prosper, hard-working people should be paid fairly and the Living Wage supports this principle.”
Katherine Chapman, director of the Living Wage Foundation, added: “The benefits the Living Wage brings to staff and businesses are clear. Wates FM is one of a number of recognised service providers who have collectively delivered pay rises to over 80,000 workers. That’s hugely important in a sector that accounts for around 7% of UK GDP, and I welcome the leadership shown by them in tackling low pay.”
