The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) has awarded Servest’s retail and leisure division training centre accreditation and assessor status, as a result of an intense six month training period carried out by the company to achieve the level of standard.
BICSc’s assessor training programme worked alongside Servest’s existing training models and successions plans. The mandatory units were designed as an introduction for cleaning operatives, and from there other skills and knowledge were built up to meet their specific retail business needs.
The division, which sees close to 8000 employees working across upward of 2000 sites, now has four qualified assessors at its helm. Thanks to the accreditation, these individuals can lead and deliver the high level BICSc standard training in-house to operatives. Servest is currently working on a plan to roll out the training programme to all divisional area managers, thereby improving standards across the division.
