Remploy signs new partnership with City FM

City Facilities Management, the company contracted to clean and maintain Asda stores throughout the UK, has renewed its partnership with Remploy, the country’s leading provider of specialist employment services for people with disabilities.

The new partnership establishes Remploy as City FM’s ‘preferred provider’ of candidates with disabilities and other barriers to work. It also significantly strengthens a relationship that started seven years ago. In that time, almost 1000 Remploy candidates have been supported into work with City FM, with some benefiting from job training at the ‘Asda Aces Academy’, a virtual supermarket sponsored by City FM and housed at Remploy’s Burnley factory since 2004.

Mark Wilson, Remploy’s head of accounts (private sector), welcomed the strengthened alliance with City FM that will expand job opportunities for people who are furthest from the jobs market. He said: “We are pleased to be able to continue our successful partnership with City FM, which helps us fulfil our mission of transforming the lives of disabled people through sustainable employment.”

Lisa Kelman, people director at City FM, added: “Working with Remploy helps to ensure that our cleaning and maintenance teams reflect the diverse communities we work in. We look forward to continuing to strengthen our partnership over the coming years.”
