REACH EVERY NOOK AND CRANNY WITH MAKITA’S 18V STICK VACUUMS

As part of Makita’s wide collection of cordless vacuum solutions, each model in Makita’s stick range benefits from Makita’s signature lithium-ion (LXT) battery platform. The LXT battery platform supports over 270 Makita tools, which is ideal for companies covering cleaning and maintenance tasks as the same battery can drive power tools, vacuum cleaners or garden tools like Makita’s cordless blowers. Perfectly suited for commercial cleaning, the vacuums provide superior performance, with run times of 40 minutes for the DCL280 and 100 minutes for the DCL281 and the DCL282 on the Normal setting with a 6.0Ah battery.

As the vacuums are battery-powered, they are not restricted by cables or the availability of a mains power supply, allowing for added portability whilst enhancing safety on site by reducing the risk of trip hazards. The three models are ergonomically designed and light weight (each weighing only 1.6 kg with battery), so the units can be used for extended periods without causing user fatigue.

The DCL281 and DCL282 include three speed settings to adjust suction power, and selected models are fitted with a LED job light to help illuminate use in low-light areas when cleaning, which also works as a low battery warning indicator. The DCL280 and DCL281 are also compatible with an optional HEPA filter (199989-8) which traps ultra-fine particles. The filter prevents micro-particles such as pollen, pet dander or bacteria from being released through the vacuum exhaust. This extra level of filtration can help to reduce allergens and improve air quality.

All three of Makita’s 18V stick vacuums benefit from a brushless motor system which has several advantages. The brushless motor delivers lower sound to minimise disruption while in operation and notably, maximum airflow and max sealed suction are improved with this type of technology. When compared to a similar non-brushless stick vacuum, the airflow of the DCL282 is increased from 1.4m3/min to 1.5m3/min, whilst its suction increases from 4kPa to 8.2kPa. What’s more, the absence of brushes in the motor means there is a lesser need for replacement parts, reducing long term maintenance costs and improving efficiency.

For enhanced suction and maximum productivity, Makita offers cyclone attachments (191D71-3 and 191D73-9), which are compatible with all three models of its 18V stick vacuums. The cyclone attachments produce a powerful cyclonic action, which captures up to 90% of dust particles before they enter the main canister or dust bag. This increases the lifetime of the stick vacuums brushless motor as most dust particles are caught in the cyclone attachment before reaching the cleaner cylinder. This also means that operators don’t need to pause work as frequently to empty the canister or dust bag.
