High level cleaning is becoming a new priority as businesses reinstate maintenance programmes disrupted during their emergency response to COVID-19. Warehousing and food manufacturing firms are among those calling in soft FM specialist cleaning company SafeGroup to spruce up their premises and carry out internal dust cleaning.
SafeGroup is responding by using advanced vacuumation poles to remove dry dust from walls and roof spaces, accelerating cleaning programmes while maximising safety.
Scott Beaumont, national business development manager at SafeGroup, said: "There has been a noticeable uplift in requests for high level cleaning work in the last month. It is a sign that businesses are trying the regularise their maintenance regimes and of the scale of the effort needed to get their business environments back to a high standard. Dust in logistics and manufacturing environments, especially for food production, can be highly problematic, as it can contaminate stored stock and production lines, leading to quality issues. Dust also contributes to health problems such as asthma and research has shown viruses can be spread on dust particles. So, in the current climate, reducing dust levels in workplaces makes a lot of sense.”
SafeGroup is increasingly using specialist carbon fibre cleaning poles that allow operatives to remove dust from overhead roof structures, including ducting and pipework, while remaining on the ground. This approach is less disruptive for the client because it is quick to carry out and does not need large equipment, like aerial platforms and aluminium towers.
