Cleaning up beaches for the Great British Beach Clean

The team behind the eco-cleaning brand, Clean Living, headed to shores and waterways across Britain in aid of the Great British Beach Clean. Founder Helen Bee and members of its eco-community of brand ambassadors took part in the nationwide clean up, taking to beaches across several destinations up and down the country.

Organised by the Marine Conservation Society, the Great British Beach Clean is an annual citizen science event that takes place across the UK for one week in September, where all items of litter found in a 100m stretch of beach are collected and recorded. With the aim of highlighting the impact of plastic pollution and reducing the impact on marine life, the data collected has influenced a number of national initiatives, including the introduction of the plastic bag charge, better wet wipe labelling and banning micro-plastics in personal care products.

Helen Bee said: “It’s been so great to see our brand ambassador team come together for the Great British Beach Clean, helping to make a positive difference to our oceans and aquatic life. Clean Living is driven by its ethos of reducing waste and making small changes to daily routines to help make a big difference, and the Great British Beach Clean demonstrates that together, we can have a huge positive impact on the environment. My vision was always to create a business that was a force for good, celebrating the power of people working together. The MSG fits perfectly with that and so we look forward to participating in the GBBC every year.”
