Churchill Group has launched a comprehensive internal wellbeing programme titled ‘WellMe’. The programme will ensure that employee wellbeing remains a priority for the business, and it aligns with the group’s core value of ‘do the right thing’.
WellMe encourages staff to make small changes in their day-to-day lives, such as walking to a colleague’s desk instead of emailing, encouraging ‘time to talk’ initiatives or learning a new skill that will support their job role. The programme has identified five main wellbeing pillars. They are:
· ‘Be Active’ - do what you can, enjoy what you do, move your mood.
· ‘Keep Learning’ - embrace new experiences, see opportunities.
· ‘Give’ - your time, your words, your presence.
· ‘Connect’ - talk, listen, be there, feel connected.
· ‘Take Notice’ - remember the simple things that give you joy.
In line with the company’s values and efforts to ‘always do right’, ‘always seek better’ and ‘always put people first’, WellMe helps to promote positive mindsets, personal development and both physical and mental health awareness.
Through various learning initiatives, sharing steps to living more sustainably, giving back to local communities and connecting with employees’ surroundings, Churchill hopes to stimulate, support and motivate its staff. It also hopes to help employees discover new skills, opportunities and experiences. WellMe will be launched with an anonymous wellbeing survey distributed to all staff. Upon completion, each person will receive a ‘Path to Wellness’ report that scores their wellbeing in seven areas and gives tips on what improvements could be made. This survey will create a wellbeing benchmark and allow Churchill to measure any changes with a follow-up survey at the start of 2021.
