C&M goes on the road

C&M Online is pleased to announce the launch of C&M Live, a dynamic series of one-day roadshows set to convene cleaning and facilities management leaders around a particular theme and sector in a different UK city every few months.

Presented by the same expert team behind both C&M and The Cleaning Shows in Manchester and London, C&M Live aims to provide an intimate environment for local and national companies to connect and promises a high standard of professional interaction and business insights to support companies in their quest for new partnerships, improved products, and reliable knowledge.

The format of each event will revolve around a conference area and table-top exhibits, with the programme ensuring ample opportunities for engaging conversations and business development.

“The cleaning and hygiene sector thrives on meaningful in-person interactions," said Event Director, Paul Sweeney. "The London and Manchester Cleaning Shows reflect that, along with the myriad of supplier-based events and industry forums that take place all over the UK. C&M Live will provide those in-person interactions but will take a more niche approach to support particular sectors, starting with hospitality. We also want to go to places that aren’t traditional trade show locations, to reach a new attendee audience.”

With a cap of 100 delegates, the first C&M Live is scheduled to take place in Glasgow on 19 June and is set to focus on the opportunities and challenges within the hospitality sector. A second event will take place in Bristol in September.

Event Theme: Making the Right First Impression

In response to the rising influence of online customer review platforms, C&M Live in Glasgow will delve into the crucial theme of creating the right first impression within the highly competitive hospitality sector. Under the theme ‘Making the Right First Impression – The Importance of Cleaning in the Hospitality Sector’, the event will feature three expert panels, all moderated by Neil Nixon, C&M Online Editor and Conference Director.

Panel 1: ‘A Pleasant Stay’

This panel will focus on cleaning within the hotel sector, featuring two cleaning providers from the Glasgow area alongside two facilities experts from amongst the city’s leading hotel providers. With cleanliness high on a resident’s wish-list – heightened by recent reports of bed bug infestations – this panel will discuss cleaning challenges and solutions in the fast-paced, quick turnover hotel sector.

Panel 2: ‘I’ll Be Back’

This panel looks at the competitive restaurant and bar sector. Two cleaning professionals from the Glasgow area will join two restauranteurs to discuss the challenge of keeping restaurants and bars clean and hygienic – both front of house and behind the scenes. This panel will focus on both regulatory and aesthetic requirements.

Panel 3: ‘A Great Day Out’

This panel will look at Glasgow’s many public facilities – including museums and sports & music venues – and will discuss the cleaning challenge created by these differing environments. In addition to the cleaning requirement, this panel will also consider post-event cleaning, rubbish disposal, washroom provision, and reinstatement of the venue at the end of a day or specific event.

Additional attractions

In between these expert panels, Neil Nixon will also host a number of Dragon’s Den-style sessions where participants will be given the opportunity to present a new product or service offering to the audience. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions before voting for their product or service offering of the day.
